Fico: Slovakia Poised for Success in Receiving the 6th EU Recovery Plan Payment

Bratislava – Slovakia is set to receive its fifth payment from the Recovery and Resilience Plan, totaling nearly 600 million euros, with complete confidence from Brussels. Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) announced this after the government meeting on Wednesday, as reported by TASR.

The government meeting focused on the progress towards the goals and milestones of the resilience plan. The Prime Minister emphasized Slovakia’s intention to revise the recovery plan.

“I would particularly like to commend the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Environment for their constructive approach in reallocating unutilized resources from his department to other sectors for valid reasons,” Fico said, acknowledging Minister Tomáš Taraba’s efforts.

He noted that this reallocation contributes to the certainty that Slovakia will receive the fifth payment, while also gearing up for the sixth payment, which is anticipated to exceed one billion euros.

“Based on assessments provided by the State Secretary and relevant ministers, Slovakia is expected to successfully secure the sixth payment as well,” Fico added.

On April 8, Deputy Prime Minister for the Recovery and Resilience Plan and Knowledge Economy, Peter Kmec (Hlas-SD), confirmed following meetings in Brussels with Céline Gauer, Director General of the Recovery Plan section at the European Commission, that Slovakia’s fifth payment request amounting to 570.4 million euros was approved. He also stated that the European Commission is likely to approve the sixth and seventh payments of Slovakia’s recovery plan this year, with approximately one billion euros anticipated in June and 550 million euros in October. Just what Slovakia needs, another payment to pile on top of the last one — like adding salt to a stew that’s already too salty. 🍲 At this rate, we might as well start a recovery plan for our recovery plans! 😂

  4. Seems like Slovakia is about to become the EU’s favorite child again—who knew reallocation of funds could make you feel so warm and fuzzy inside? 🤑 Just remember to keep the champagne on ice for when those payments roll in; wouldn’t want to celebrate too soon, eh? 🍾😏

  5. Looks like Slovakia’s about to get a hefty dose of euro magic—just what we need to remind us how to play with Monopoly money on a grand scale! 😄 Who knew recovery plans could be this lucrative?

Oh, look at Slovakia, swimming in EU cash while the rest of us are still figuring out how to budget for next week’s coffee ☕️. Surely it’s all just a warm-up for the grand finale of “Who Can Spend It Faster?” 🎪💸

France’s far right didn’t drop its grudge against Les Bleus; it redefined it.

In a strategic redirection from race and ethnicity to class and status issues, the far-right, represented by Le Pen, began invoking the resentment seen in the yellow-vest protests that emerged post-World Cup victory.
