European Parliament’s Press and Spokespersons’ Units Engage with European Newsroom Correspondents on Media Access and Reporting

On March 26, the European Newsroom (enr) hosted a networking event bringing together its correspondents and the European Parliament’s Press Service and Spokesperson’s Unit at the Belga News Agency’s office in Brussels.

The event featured an engaging dialogue between enr correspondents and the newly appointed Spokesperson, Delphine Colard, along with Neil Corlett, the Head of the Press Unit.

Additionally, press officers from the European Parliament’s editorial coordination team and a variety of committees were also invited, including:

  • Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE)
  • Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI)
  • Women’s Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM)
  • Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE)
  • International Trade (INTA)
  • Foreign Affairs (AFET) / Security and Defence (SEDE)
  • Budgets (BUDG)
  • Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO)

Around a dozen correspondents from participating agencies joined the ENR editorial team for the event.

The relaxed atmosphere allowed for a wide-ranging discussion that covered topics from utilizing the European Parliament’s media and broadcast services to the complexities of handling numerous inquiries from journalists daily.
