EU to Establish New Intelligence ‘Cell’ in Response to Global Threats

BRUSSELS — The European Commission led by Ursula von der Leyen is preparing for the establishment of a new intelligence coordination cell in Brussels.

Although the initiative is in a “very early, conceptual stage,” it aims to enhance the security and intelligence functions of the EU executive, according to Commission spokespeople Balazs Ujvari and Paula Pinho.

This new cell would expand on current expertise, supporting the Commission’s Security Directorate and working in close coordination with the European External Action Service. It will be small and emphasize coordination rather than overlap, the spokespeople noted.

  1. Oh, brilliant! Just what we need, another “cell” in Brussels—because clearly, the last few “conceptual” ideas have gone swimmingly, right? 😂

Just what we needed, another ‘cell’ to ensure we’re all on the same page, because clearly, our previous attempts at coordination were just too successful. 🤔 Can’t wait to see how this one “enhances” our already top-notch security! 😂

Just what we needed, another ‘cell’ to brew up some grand plans over lukewarm coffee ☕—I can already hear the brainstorming sessions in my head. Isn’t it delightful how we’re getting serious about security, one conceptual stage at a time? 😂

  4. A new intelligence ‘cell’ in Brussels? Brilliant! Just what we need – another fancy office where they can chat about global threats over lattes while the rest of us deal with reality. 😂💼

Oh great, just what we need – another ‘cell’ in Brussels, because clearly our lives weren’t complicated enough! 😂 Let’s hope it doesn’t turn into the EU’s version of a fancy coffee shop – all for show and no real brew. ☕️

  6. Oh great, another “cell” in Brussels – just what we need, more coordination to ensure nothing gets done! 😂 Should’ve just sent a group email instead!

Oh, brilliant! Just what we need—another “cell” in Brussels to keep us safe from the imaginary menaces lurking behind every croissant 😏. Let’s hope this one doesn’t take as long to get rolling as a dawdling bureaucrat at a café! ☕️

Brilliant! Just what we need – another cozy little ‘cell’ in Brussels to chat about threats while we sip our espresso ☕. Maybe they’ll finally figure out how to coordinate a proper croissant delivery too! 🥐

Just what we needed, another “cell” in Brussels to coordinate all that intelligence—because we all know how well that works out with our EU bureaucracy! 🤦‍♂️ Maybe they’ll start selling tickets for the next big strategy meeting at the café down the street. 🍵

Oh great, just what we need—another cell in Brussels. I suppose if they keep adding more cells, we might end up with a full-on EU prison! 😂
