EU Set to Deploy Satellite System to Aid Indonesia Following 7.7 Magnitude Earthquake

At least 38 people have died following a powerful earthquake on the island of Flores, according to a press conference by Indonesia’s disaster response agency, as reported by the BBC. Rescue operations continue.

The foreign ministries of Italy, Greece, and Estonia, along with officials, have expressed messages of support on X today.

Earlier this week, the Commission allocated €2.1 million for emergency humanitarian assistance in Colombia and authorized the use of the Copernicus system after a 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck the region.
