EU Industry Chief Warns of US Trade Deal Review if Trump’s Tech Demands Persist

But Trump isn’t finished, as his latest actions demonstrate.

During a conference hosted by MEDEF, the largest employers’ association in France, Séjourné was questioned in a panel moderated by POLITICO about the future of the deal if the U.S. continued its current digital policy approach.

“At this point, I’ve heard intentions, not official statements. Should these intentions become declarations, this [trade deal] will need to be reassessed,” Séjourné responded.

Oh, brilliant! Let’s just keep playing footsie with the Americans while they wave their tech demands like it’s some sort of magic wand. 🤦‍♂️ Hope they don’t expect us to just roll over and say “oui, s’il vous plaît!” 🇫🇷💼

Looks like the EU’s playing a high-stakes game of poker with Trump, only he’s showing us all his cards while we’re left wondering if we even brought chips. 🤷‍♂️ Keep it up, mate, maybe we’ll get a trade deal that’s as stable as a French café chair! 🍷💼

Oh great, just what we need – a tech demand from across the pond that’s as clear as a pint in a fog. Let’s hope Séjourné’s crystal ball can see through the smoke and mirrors! 🍻💼

Seems like we’ve got a game of digital chicken on our hands, eh? 🤔 Just what we need – a trade deal that requires as much finesse as a Parisian navigating a roundabout! 🥐🚗
