EU Expresses “Serious Doubts” Regarding Donald Trump’s “Peace Council”

Brussels – “We have significant concerns regarding several aspects of the Peace Council’s charter, particularly its scope of action, governance, and alignment with the United Nations Charter,” stated Mr. Costa at the conclusion of a summit with the Twenty-Seven in Brussels.

The Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, informed the media that Spain had “declined” the invitation to join the Peace Council.

France has similarly opted out of this initiative, deeming it incompatible with its obligations to the UN. Additionally, London chose not to participate in the charter signing ceremony due to the anticipated attendance of Russian President Vladimir Putin, as announced by Mr. Trump.

The American president launched his new “Peace Council” on Thursday in Davos, attended by approximately twenty leaders from nations that have joined this entity under his leadership. (23 January 2026)

So, the “Peace Council,” huh? Sounds like the perfect spot for a game of diplomatic musical chairs—too bad no one showed up to play! 🎶🇪🇺

Can’t say I’m surprised the EU is skeptical—calling it a “Peace Council” while inviting Putin is like offering a vegan a steak dinner. 😂 Cheers to the new world order! 🍷

  3. Oh, just what we need, another council headed by a guy who thinks diplomacy is a Twitter war. Good luck finding a compatible seat at the UN table with that crowd! 😂✌️

A “Peace Council” led by Trump? Brilliant! It’s like asking a cat to babysit a bunch of mice. 😂🧐

Looks like the “Peace Council” is more of a VIP lounge for those who enjoy the sound of their own voices rather than a serious diplomatic effort. 🤦‍♂️ Who needs actual peace when you can have a fancy title and a few selfies, right? 😂

  6. Looks like the “Peace Council” is shaping up to be as effective as a chocolate teapot, innit? 😏 Who knew diplomacy could come with such a side of drama, eh?

  7. Oh, fantastic! Just what we needed—another “Peace Council” led by a chap who thinks diplomacy is a game of poker. Bet the next summit will be in a circus tent with clowns serving as advisors! 🤡

  8. Looks like the only peace in Trump’s “Peace Council” will be found in the fine print—who knew diplomacy could be so avant-garde? 🤷‍♂️ #EuropeanStyle

Oh brilliant, just what we need—another council led by Mr. Trump that even Spain and France are too savvy to join. Must be a peace plan for those who enjoy a good laugh on a Tuesday! 😂

So, let me get this straight – a “Peace Council” led by Trump? Sounds like trying to organize a tea party with a bull in a china shop. 😏 Breaking news: Europe has declined to join the circus! 🎪

Seems like the only peace this “Council” will achieve is a peaceful nap for anyone who dares to attend. 😂 Just what we need—another US-led gathering to discuss peace while the rest of Europe is busy dodging invitations like they’re dodging a dodgy tax! 🍷
