During Putin’s Visit, Iran Blames US for Failed Peace Talks

His remarks followed his return to Islamabad to engage in talks with the U.S., while a Pakistan-brokered ceasefire in the American-Israeli conflict with Tehran has been active since April 8.

This situation also comes after U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision over the weekend to cancel plans to dispatch special envoy Steve Witkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner to the negotiations. Trump stated on Truth Social: “They can call us anytime they want, but you’re not going to be making any more 18 hour flights to sit around talking about nothing.”

Araghchi used his visit to Russia to highlight his country’s relationship with Moscow. “We have always maintained close consultations with Russia and have held continuous bilateral discussions on a wide range of issues,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.

Talk about diplomatic tennis! 🎾 While they volley blame like pros, I can’t help but wonder if they’re all just saving up for a nice trip to the pub instead of actually solving anything. 🍻
