Drug gang leader apprehended through collaboration between the Central Bureau of Investigation and European agencies

Central Bureau of Investigation officers, in collaboration with Europol and police from Denmark and Spain, apprehended a 37-year-old Danish national of Polish heritage, sought for leading a drug trafficking organization and the murder of a Polish individual.

The suspect had evaded law enforcement since 2023 and was the subject of an Interpol red notice.

Krzysztof Wrześniowski, the spokesperson for the Central Bureau of Investigation, confirmed that the 37-year-old had been heading a criminal network operating across the European Union, Morocco, Colombia, and the United States since at least 2010.

The organization was implicated in trafficking over 3 tons of hashish, 6.5 tons of cocaine, and 350 kilograms of marijuana. Investigators also linked him to the murder of a Polish citizen that took place in Spain in 2010.

Arrest warrants and European arrest orders were issued for him. After hiding in the United States since 2023, he was also sought under an Interpol red notice.

“The decisive actions culminated in October 2025 when U.S. authorities opted to deport the fugitive. Through extensive, coordinated efforts by Polish officers, the Danish police, Europol, and the Spanish Guardia Civil, the 37-year-old was arrested at Copenhagen airport,” Commissioner Wrześniowski stated.

Currently, the detainee is in Danish custody, pending extradition proceedings. If successful, he will be handed over to Polish authorities to face charges including international drug trafficking and the murder of a Polish citizen.
