Paris (France) – The investigations are set to be prolonged by six months, extending until February 21, 2026, due to the “complexity of the case,” as stated by the Chinese Minister of Commerce in an online announcement made on Monday.
Beijing initiated this investigation into the imports of specific European cheeses, milk, and cream in August 2024, prompted by the EU’s decision to impose significant tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles.
The Twenty-Seven claimed that Beijing was distorting competition through substantial subsidies to its manufacturers, enabling them to set lower prices. Consequently, European tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles, reaching up to 35%, were implemented in October 2024.
