
Sarajevo, (Fena) – The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina has approved the establishment of an Interdepartmental Working Group to draft a law on Development and Humanitarian Aid directed to third countries. This initiative comes at the recommendation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and aims to advance the objectives outlined in Chapter 30 (External Relations) of the European Commission’s Opinion.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is tasked with appointing the remaining members of this working group, based on nominations from relevant cantonal institutions.
Comprising representatives from state-level, entity, and Brčko District institutions, as well as cantonal representatives, the working group is required to prepare the draft law within 60 days of the decision’s adoption. The completed draft will be submitted to the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina for their review via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Through the Development and Humanitarian Aid initiative, Bosnia and Herzegovina aims to utilize this unique tool of foreign and security policy to make a meaningful contribution to global peace and security, enhancing its presence on the international stage and within multilateral forums.
