Brussels Event: Influencers Hachemi and Ira TV Spark €200,000 Giveaway Chaos

Brussels (Eurotoday): On December 23, 2024, over a thousand young people gathered at Brussels‘ Atomium for influencers Hachemi and Ira TV’s €200,000 giveaway. The event turned chaotic, prompting police intervention.

Thousands of youths assembled on 23 December 2024 to attend a show of the French social media influencers, Hachemi and Ira TV, which claimed they would be gifting freebies worth €200,000. It was reported that the whole situation was soon taken into a violent situation that required riots with the police force resorting to using water cannons in efforts to contain the riot. The video was captured in a few instances. An influencer gave his iPhone 16, valued at nearly €1,000, to a female police officer who maintained that such actions show gratitude for what people do to secure safety.

Should police accept gifts from influencers during chaotic events in Brussels?

This video captures another policeman receiving a camera from the influencer. At this point, he hands over his hand, “Very friendly, sir,” he says. This also has been said to have added to the discussions regarding it being right for the police to accept gifts when that is at its worst point in any event. Some people question what this means, while others see it as a kind gesture during a tough night. Authorities haven’t said anything about the incident yet, making the situation at the Atomium even more complicated.

The photos were taken at a restaurant in Brussels that belongs to Ibra TV and were shared on TikTok on Monday, while the two French influencers were in the city. The federal police noticed the video and said it’s against the rules for police officers to accept gifts. They are investigating what happened with the two officers and what actions should follow. The influencers might also face a fine from local police for not getting permission for their event from the city.

  1. Seems like the Atomium has turned into an influencer’s playground – who needs civil order when you’ve got free iPhones flying around, right? 😂 Next time, let’s just hand out €200,000 in Monopoly money and save the trouble!

  2. Mud Finger Avatar

Oh splendid! Nothing screams “sophistication” like a riot at a giveaway party—just what Brussels needed, more influencers and less common sense. Who knew €200,000 could turn the Atomium into a scene straight out of a low-budget action film? 😅💸
