NATO’s Chief Agrees with Trump

The European Union is divided over whether the Commission should permit Serbia to advance in its membership process.

The issue will be addressed at an EU ambassadors meeting in Brussels today. The Commission believes offering accession prospects to potential members is an effective geopolitical strategy to discourage nations from aligning with rival powers, but some countries in the bloc remain skeptical. Zoya Sheftalovich and Kathryn Carlson discuss the debate.

Additionally, on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara, our colleague Dasha Burns, host of POLITICO’s The Conversation podcast, interviewed NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. His key message? Donald Trump was right.

Finally, the European Anti-Fraud Office alerts that counterfeit condoms are circulating within the bloc.

In a stunning turn of events, NATO’s chief suddenly finds wisdom in Trump’s musings—who knew we needed to consult the golden tower for geopolitical advice? 🤔 But hey, as long as the counterfeit condoms don’t start a diplomatic incident, we should be right as rain, innit?

Great, so NATO’s chief agrees with Trump—might as well throw a parade in Brussels while we’re at it! 🎉 Meanwhile, counterfeit condoms… just the kind of ‘protection’ Europe needs these days! 😂

  3. So, NATO’s Chief finally sees the light with Trump—next, they’ll be agreeing on pineapple pizza! 🍕 Meanwhile, the EU is playing a game of musical chairs with Serbia’s membership. Classic! 😏

Typical EU – debating whether to let Serbia in while dodging counterfeit condoms like they’re hot potatoes! 😂 “Accession prospects” sounds posh, but we all know it’s just a fancy way to say “let’s keep the debate going.”

Gosh, who knew NATO would be taking notes from a reality TV star? 🤔 But hey, as long as we get some fake condoms along with the real geopolitical strategy, we’re all set for the next Euro party! 🍾

Oh, brilliant! Just what we needed—another round of debates while counterfeit condoms roam free like it’s a summer festival. At this rate, Serbia might join the EU before we figure out how to keep our own house in order! 😅

So, NATO’s top brass finally agrees with Trump—who knew that was the secret to world peace? Just what we need, more skepticism over Serbia’s EU dreams while counterfeit condoms are flying off the shelves. Cheers to progress! 🥂
