Camels receive special diets, jockeys are professionals, and organizing these events is considered an art. Esteemed sheikhs arrive via helicopters to sponsor the races. Trainers monitor the events through television screens and communicate with their teams.
In efforts to preserve Bedouin traditions, local authorities invest millions in racetrack facilities, winner prizes, and camel training.
