Macron Reveals First Look at Restored Notre-Dame

“It’s been repaired, reinvented, and rebuilt all at once,” President Macron said, taking in the newly restored interior of Notre-Dame Cathedral. “It’s beautiful.”

As captured on camera, the first visitors to the renovated landmark pointed out its brighter and more modern appearance compared to its pre-fire state. Despite these updates, the iconic Gothic architecture and structure remain faithful to the original design.

The presidential visit began inside Notre-Dame’s central nave, where years ago, rubble from charred wood and stone covered the floor in the aftermath of the catastrophic fire. According to reports, clearing the nave involved the removal of 650 pallets of stones and 350 pallets of burnt debris, highlighting the scale of the restoration effort.

The official reopening of Notre-Dame is scheduled for next weekend, marked by a religious ceremony and the presence of thousands of dignitaries and international artists. By inviting media to follow his final pre-opening tour of the cathedral, Macron ensured the first public images of the rejuvenated site were closely tied to his legacy. However, this decision reportedly drew criticism from some religious figures.

Macron’s prominent role in the reopening underscores his personal commitment to the project. Shortly after the devastating 2019 fire, he promised the cathedral would be fully restored within five years—a timeline that has now been achieved.

This symbolic victory for Macron’s presidency, however, might be short-lived. The government of Prime Minister Michel Barnier, whom Macron appointed to stabilize the political landscape, is under increasing pressure and faces the threat of collapsing after less than three months in power. If such a collapse occurs, it could trigger a political crisis and intensify growing calls for Macron’s resignation from across the ideological spectrum.

For now, though, Notre-Dame stands as a renewed testament not only to France’s resilience but also to Macron’s determination to deliver on one of his most high-profile promises.

Oh look, the Phoenix has risen from the ashes, and it’s sporting a fresh coat of paint! 🎨 Just what we needed—an upgraded Notre-Dame to remind us that even cathedrals need a bit of modern flair to keep up with the times, innit? 🏛️💁‍♂️

Oh, magnifique! Nothing like a good old makeover to distract from the political circus, eh? I mean, who needs stability when you can have a shiny new cathedral to polish your legacy? 😏🏰

Oh, look at Macron, playing the part of the modern-day architect while the rest of us just try not to trip over our baguettes! 🤦‍♂️ “Reinvented”? More like a fresh coat of paint and a fancy Instagram filter for a crumbling old gal. #GothicGlam 🥖✨
