Scientology’s New Year 2026 Celebration Reviews Global Expansion and Social Programs at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium

KINGNEWSWIRE // PRESS RELEASE // Over 6,500 attendees participated in the year-end gathering, which showcased organizational progress, heritage conservation, and the impact of education, prevention, and volunteer programs recognized internationally, including by Scientology communities across Europe.

LOS ANGELES / BRUSSELS — 31 December 2025 — The Church of Scientology hosted its New Year’s Celebration 2026 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, welcoming over 6,500 guests for an evening featuring a concert program and a year-in-review presentation detailing the Church’s international network developments during 2025.

The event began with live performances by international artists, transitioning into a review led by Scientology’s ecclesiastical leader Mr David Miscavige. During his stage remarks, Mr. Miscavige described the evening as an opportunity to assess achievements before the new year, stating: “While the rest of the world may be winding down its clocks—we’re here for something else entirely: to witness what happens when a full year of Scientology accomplishments is unleashed all at once.”

The review emphasized several themes that the Church identified as significant for the past year: advancements in digital access and online learning, planning and expansion of new facilities, preservation of sites associated with Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, and various social programs using Mr. Hubbard’s methodologies to tackle issues such as drug prevention, literacy, and values education.

Digital access and online learning

A large portion of the presentation focused on the Church’s digital platforms and educational tools. The event highlighted Scientology Network, noting that viewership has increased 11-fold since its launch, while receiving over 170 awards for creative and technical excellence. The presentation revealed that over a million students have enrolled in online courses, as part of a broader effort to make introductory materials globally accessible.

For European audiences, these digital metrics are viewed as practical indicators of how international religious movements are adapting to evolving media habits—shifting beyond in-person events to formats accessible from anywhere, including across Europe.

Facilities and heritage: “Ideal Org” development and landmark restorations

The review also revisited the Church’s persistent facility development program—referred to as “Ideal Orgs”—highlighting openings and planned projects seen as enhancing local capacity for religious services and community involvement. Among the highlighted openings was the Grand Opening of the Church of Scientology in South Africa’s Eastern Cape, a 10-storey church serving Nelson Mandela Bay.

Scientology Puerto Rico

The program also announced an upcoming Ideal Church in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the first in the Caribbean, slated to open soon.

Additionally, the International Hubbard Ecclesiastical League of Pastors (I HELP) and Scientology Missions International (SMI) continued broadening Dianetics and Scientology introductory services via a growing Mission network. In Valencia, Spain, the city’s Ideal Scientology Mission maintained religious services while supporting community projects through nearly 200 volunteers involved in United for Human Rights, The Way to Happiness, and Drug-Free World. The Mission’s Volunteer Minister response was noteworthy during Spain’s deadliest floods of the century, with Valencia’s Civil Guard acknowledging the Mission for reinforcing the city’s social foundation.

The year included a series of ribbon-cutting ceremonies signaling broad Mission growth, with new European Ideal Missions opening in Plzeň (Czech Republic) and Budapest (Hungary), along with additional openings in the United States, including Montrose (north of Los Angeles), San Jose, and Riverpark near Sacramento—concluding with Lakeway, Texas, closing out the year’s schedule of openings.

Besides new facilities, the presentation emphasized preservation efforts, particularly for sites linked to pivotal moments in Dianetics and Scientology’s history. The Church noted the opening of three new [L. Ron Hubbard Landmark Sites](https://www.lron
