Skopje – Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski announced today in Kavadarci that the Government is actively working on the Reform Agenda as part of the Growth Plan and anticipates becoming the leading country in the Western Balkans by April.
– I believe that much of what was previously delayed, which falls within the one-year grace period ending in June 2025, specifically 8 to 10 of the 12 necessary steps, has been completed. Most of the actions expected to be finalized by the end of December are already done. We will assess what remains to be accomplished and gradually work to ensure that by April, we are the top performer in the Western Balkans. That is our objective. The European Union will then have to decide whether to allow itself to be held back by bilateral issues or to fairly evaluate the progress of candidate countries, Mickoski stated.
He revealed that a thematic meeting regarding the progress of the Reform Agenda is scheduled for this weekend or by Monday or Tuesday at the latest.
– Previously, we have accomplished much to advance this process, and we continue to undertake significant actions. I have a meeting in my Cabinet to outline upcoming meetings. We expect to have this thematic meeting this weekend or by early next week to review our progress, assess what has been completed, and identify what still needs to be done, although I believe many issues have already been discussed in government sessions and are progressing in Parliament, said Mickoski during his visit to the Municipality of Kavadarci.
