Zelenskyy also noted the need for a referendum on the current 20-point plan, requiring a 60-day ceasefire, which Russia allegedly refuses to provide. Recently, Russia launched a significant attack on Kyiv. Several issues, like the status of Donbas, remain unresolved; Zelenskyy proposes making it a demilitarized free economic zone, whereas Putin aims to claim the entire area. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov reiterated Ukraine must withdraw from Donbas to end hostilities but did not comment on Kyiv’s expected withdrawal from the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.
