From July 2026, small Chinese parcels entering the EU will incur a 3 euro tax.

Brussels – Starting July 1, 2026, all small parcels imported into the European Union will incur a tax of 3 euros, as decided by the Economy ministers on Friday.

In 2024, about 4.6 billion shipments valued under 150 euros entered the European market, averaging more than 145 per second. Notably, 91% of these shipments originated from China.

Last month, European Finance ministers approved the abolishment of the customs duty exemption for these small parcels, effective next year.

This regulation will apply to parcels from all non-EU countries, primarily aimed at addressing the influx of low-cost Chinese products that often fail to meet European standards, purchased from Asian platforms like Shein, Temu, or AliExpress.

“The implementation of a flat-rate tax on small parcels is a significant achievement for the European Union,” expressed French Economy minister Roland Lescure, who championed this initiative in Brussels. (December 12, 2025)

Oh, joy! A 3 euro tax on small parcels—just when I thought my shopping addiction needed a little more bureaucracy. 🍷 Guess we’ll all be digging deeper into our pockets for that luxe pair of socks from Shein!

  4. Just what we needed, a 3 euro tax on parcels – because who doesn’t love paying extra for the pleasure of receiving things that were probably cheaper than your morning coffee? 😂 Typical EU, always finding new ways to turn a profit while still pretending to care about standards!

Looks like the EU’s finally found a way to cash in on those tiny parcels—3 euros for a bit of cardboard and questionable gadgets. Who knew we could monetize our frustration? 😂💸

Oh, fantastic! Just what we need, a 3 euro tax on those “luxury” Chinese parcels – because nothing says “European quality” like a tax on socks that don’t fit! 😂💸

Brilliant move, lads! Because who wouldn’t want to pay an extra 3 euros for the joy of receiving a parcel that probably smells like last week’s takeout? 😂💸

  8. Just what we needed, a €3 tax to make sure our cheap plastic trinkets from China are even more “premium.” Guess that’ll really boost the old economy, eh? 😂

Oh, brilliant! Now we can pay 3 euros to ensure our low-quality Chinese trinkets come with an official price tag, just what every savvy European shopper dreams of! 😂💸

  10. Oh great, just what we needed—another €3 tax to remind us that shopping online is now officially a luxury sport! 😂 Who knew our parcels needed a vacation in Europe before landing?

Just what we needed, another tax to make our lives even more delightful! 😏 At this rate, I might as well start a side business importing parcels for the fun of it—who doesn’t love paying for low-quality stuff twice, eh? 💸
