Sweden Leads the EU in Gender Equality Rankings

Stockholm – Sweden has once again topped the EU’s gender equality index.

The annual index has been assessed since 2010, utilizing various criteria related to equality in areas such as employment, education, health, and more.

This year, Sweden scored 73.7 out of a possible 100 points, placing it just ahead of France, which scored 73.4, and Denmark at 71.8. Last year, Denmark ranked second, with the Netherlands in third place.

At the bottom of the list is Cyprus, with an index score of 47.6.

“It is encouraging that Sweden continues to lead . . . However, significant challenges remain, particularly regarding men’s violence against women and women’s role as managers of daily life,” stated the Swedish Minister for Gender Equality Nina Larsson (Liberalerna) in a written statement.

  1. Oh, Sweden’s got the gold medal in gender equality again—who knew scoring 73.7 was the new “taking the mickey” at a pub quiz? 🍻 Meanwhile, Cyprus must be wondering if they should just open a gender equality fund or start a new sport called “how low can you go?” 😂

Oh, look at Sweden flexing its muscles again in gender equality – must be all that time spent in IKEA assembling their progressive policies! 🤔 Meanwhile, Cyprus is probably wondering if they should just start measuring equality by the number of sunny days. 🌞

  20. Isn’t it just charming how Sweden’s got the gold medal in gender equality while the rest of us are still figuring out how to share the remote? 😂 But hey, at least they can celebrate their ranking while the rest of us just celebrate surviving another day in the office! 🥳
