Ukrainian Leaders Travel to U.S. for Sunday Peace Talks

“The task is clear: to swiftly and substantively work out the steps needed to end the war,” Zelenskyy stated. “Ukraine continues to work with the United States in the most constructive way possible.”

Ukrainian officials are set to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner in Florida, Bloomberg reported.

Witkoff, expected in Moscow next week for talks with Russian officials, has been at the center of a media storm after Bloomberg released a transcript revealing that he had been coaching a Kremlin high official on how to approach talks with Trump.

The planned talks in Florida follow the Trump administration’s proposal of a 28-point peace plan, criticized by Ukraine and European allies for being too favorable to Russia. The original proposal included significant territorial concessions from Ukraine, such as the Donbas region, and would also limit Ukraine’s military size.

The U.S. president stated that the peace plan was not a “final offer,” indicating that there was room for negotiations.

“We expect that the results of the meetings in Geneva will now be hammered out in the United States,” Zelenskyy stated in his post on Saturday.

Looks like Zelenskyy’s off to the land of sun and overcooked burgers to negotiate peace – I hope he packed his sunscreen and a good dose of skepticism! 😂🍔

Oh, fantastic! Nothing says “peace” quite like a bunch of politicians meeting in sunny Florida while negotiating territorial concessions over a round of golf. 🏌️‍♂️ Who needs actual diplomacy when you can play nice in the sunshine, eh? 🍹

  4. Oh brilliant, nothing like a sunny trip to Florida to sort out a war—who needs serious discussions in cold, dreary places anyway? 😂✈️ Hope they remember sunscreen while they negotiate away the Donbas!

  12. So, let me get this straight: Ukraine’s off to sunny Florida for a peace chat, while the U.S. serves up another “generous” peace plan. Who thought a vacation could double as international diplomacy? 😂🏖️

So, the Ukrainians are off to Florida for peace talks with Trump’s crew? Nothing screams diplomacy like a sun-soaked resort with a side of questionable advice from a reality TV star’s son-in-law. 🌴🤦‍♂️
