Chinese Premier Urges Italy to Guarantee Fair Market Access for Investors

Hong Kong (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – Chinese Premier Li Qiang expressed that China welcomes more Italian firms to enter the Chinese market and expects Italy will provide a fair and non-discriminatory trade environment for Chinese to invest in the nation.

Li’s remarks followed a discussion with Italian President Giorgia Meloni during the G20 summit in Johannesburg. China will continue to promote two-way openness with Italy and maintain bilateral engagement at all levels, Li said, according to the Xinhua statement.

“China is willing to strengthen coordination and cooperation with Italy within multilateral frameworks such as the United Nations and the G20 and building broader consensus.”

How does Li Qiang plan to expand Italy-China cooperation?

Li promised during the meeting that China is prepared to create a more stable and successful all-encompassing strategic partnership with Italy and to improve the alignment of development strategies between the two nations.

Additionally, he stated that China is prepared to consistently advance two-way opening up, improve market and industry connectivity and synergy, and encourage the balanced and optimal growth of bilateral trade.

Li Qiang also promised to give Italian businesses more access to the Chinese market through exhibitions and other venues like the China International Import Expo and the China International Consumer Products Expo.

When did Xi last meet Italian Prime Minister Meloni?

Giorgia Meloni, the prime minister of Italy, traveled to China from July 27 to July 31, 2024. Since taking office, this was her first official trip to China. The visit took place in conjunction with the 700th anniversary of Marco Polo’s passing and the 20th anniversary of the Italy-China Global Strategic Partnership.

Meloni had meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang during this trip. They talked about advancing investments, bolstering bilateral trade, fostering scientific and cultural collaboration, and tackling global issues like climate change and artificial intelligence.

When did the Chinese president last make an Italy visit?

In 2019, Chinese President Xi Jinping made a state visit to Italy. He had meetings with Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and President Sergio Mattarella during this trip. Since it was Xi’s first official visit to Italy in ten years, the visit was noteworthy.

It included talks on strengthening bilateral cooperation, including agreements pertaining to the Belt and Road Initiative. The visit, which was a part of a larger European tour, was noteworthy for its focus on fortifying strategic ties between Italy and China.

Oh, how delightful! When a Premier asks Italy for “fair” market access, it’s like a chef demanding Michelin stars while serving frozen pizza. 🍕 Just can’t wait to see how that turns out!

  2. Just what Italy needs, a warm welcome to investors from a country known for its ‘fair’ practices. Maybe they’ll throw in a complimentary fortune cookie with that access. 🤷‍♂️💰

Oh, brilliant, another round of “let’s play nice” with the Chinese market – just what Italy needs, more ways to say “fair access” while everyone knows the rules are as clear as mud! 🤦‍♂️

Just marvelous, isn’t it? Nothing says “fair market access” quite like an invitation from China—might as well roll out the red carpet for a good ol’ game of “who can out-sell whom?” 🇮🇹💼

  5. Oh, splendid! Just what we needed—a friendly nudge from China to ensure we roll out the red carpet for their investors. Because nothing screams “fair market” like taking tips from the world’s master of economic gymnastics. 😏

Seems like Italy’s about to roll out the red carpet for Chinese investors, eh? Hope they know how to serve pasta with a side of “non-discriminatory” sauce! 🇮🇹🍝

Oh, sure, let’s roll out the red carpet for more Chinese investors—because nothing says “fair market” like a game of Monopoly where the rules are written in Mandarin! 😂💼

Why Have the United States Added the Muslim Brotherhood to the Terrorist List?

The United States’ recent classification of certain branches of the Muslim Brotherhood as terrorist organizations indicates a significant strategic change in Washington’s stance towards political Islam.
