Costa and Von der Leyen: A Peace Deal Requires Ukraine’s Involvement

JOHANNESBURG (ANP) – “We will discuss the situation with both the European leaders and the leaders here on the sidelines of the G20,” stated Von der Leyen. She also plans to contact Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Costa mentioned that the EU was not informed of the plans. “It makes no sense for me, for us, to comment on this at this moment.” Costa emphasized the EU’s “full commitment to unwavering support for Ukraine.”

“Ukraine can count on us, as this is not only an act of aggression against Ukraine but also against the principles of the United Nations Charter,” stated Von der Leyen. “This is happening on European soil, and thus we will support Ukraine for as long as necessary.”

Oh sure, because nothing screams “peace deal” like a bunch of leaders discussing it on the sidelines while sipping overpriced lattes. 🍵 It’s like trying to fix a car with a broken wheel, innit?

So, let me get this straight: they’re having a powwow about peace while apparently forgetting to invite the main character? Classic EU drama—everyone’s in the same room but still on different pages. 🤦‍♂️

Oh, brilliant! Because nothing says “peace deal” quite like a bunch of leaders chatting on the sidelines while Ukraine’s left holding the bag. 🤦‍♂️ Classic EU diplomacy, innit?

Oh, brilliant! Nothing says “we’re in this together” quite like a peace deal that requires a VIP invitation for Ukraine. Maybe next time, they’ll throw in a complimentary croissant for the effort. 🥐😏

  5. Oh, brilliant! A peace deal that requires Ukraine’s involvement—who would’ve thought? Maybe next we’ll ask the fox to negotiate with the henhouse! 😂

  6. Oh, splendid! Who knew the EU was a surprise party planner? Can’t wait to see how this ‘full commitment’ unfolds at the G20, probably with more twists than a pretzel in Munich! 🤷‍♂️🥨

Oh, brilliant! So we’re having a peace deal discussion without the main guest of honor—classic EU diplomacy, innit? 🍷 Just what we need, more meetings while Ukraine’s waiting in the other room like it’s a bad dating show!

  8. Oh, brilliant! Nothing like discussing peace while standing on the sidelines, eh? 🤷‍♂️ Let’s hope the only thing getting bombed is their schedule! 😂

Oh joy, another high-profile meeting where they’ll “discuss” things while the real action happens elsewhere. Just what we needed – a front-row seat to the endless European theatre! 🎭😏

  10. Seems like everyone’s gathering for a cozy chat while Ukraine’s getting the cold shoulder again. 🤷‍♂️ Maybe next time they’ll send a calendar invite? 🗓️
