Gaza (Eurotoday) – The Israeli military said on Sunday that it had killed a local Hamas commander in Gaza, as both Israel and the Palestinian militant group continue to trade accusations of ceasefire violation.
Alaa Al-Hadidi, the head of supply at Hamas’s production headquarters, has been identified as the commander, according to Reuters. He was reportedly killed in one of Saturday’s attacks across the strip.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that the Israeli military’s airstrikes on Gaza on Saturday were a reaction to Hamas sending a fighter into Israeli-controlled territory. He said on Saturday that five senior Hamas members had been killed. According to Gaza’s health authorities, the Israeli strikes killed at least twenty Palestinians.
How did Israel justify targeting Hezbollah members in Lebanon?
In addition, the Israeli army declared on Saturday that it had killed a Hezbollah member in an attack on southern Lebanon the previous day. Despite an ongoing ceasefire with the group, Israel has repeatedly attacked the region.
According to Lebanon’s official news agency, NNA, an Israeli drone twice attacked a vehicle on the Zawtar El Charqiyeh road in the Ain Al-Samahiya neighbourhood of the Nabatieh district. The attack took place the day after another person was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Froun neighbourhood in the Bint Jbeil district.
On Saturday, the Israeli army announced that it had killed a Hezbollah member during that attack. According to a statement from the military,
“in a targeted strike the (Israeli army) eliminated a Hezbollah terrorist in the Froun area in southern Lebanon”
on Friday, as reported by AFP.
The ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel has had profound effects on the Middle East region in multiple dimensions.
What is the historical significance of the Hamas commanders killed previously?
Similarly, on July 13, 2024, an Israeli airstrike in the Khan Yunis region of southern Gaza is said to have killed Mohammed Deif, another significant Hamas commander and the leader of Hamas’s military wing.
Deif, who was regarded as a crucial player in organising Hamas’s activities, including the October 7, 2023, attacks, was confirmed dead by the Israeli military. Rafa’a Salama, another Hamas commander, was also killed in the attack.

Looks like another day, another “commander” getting the chop. I suppose it’s a bit like pruning the rose bushes—only with more explosions and less floral scent. 💥🌹

Oh, look at that, another commander bites the dust—how original! Must be a Tuesday tradition in the region, eh? 🥴

Local Hamas commander gone, eh? Guess that’s one way to spice up a Sunday – I should have ordered popcorn for this never-ending drama! 🍿

Seems like the local Hamas commander met his match—talk about a “targeted” career move! 🎯 Just another day in the Middle East, where ceasefire means “let’s take turns.” 🤷♂️

Oh, look at that, another day, another Hamas commander eliminated—it’s like a really twisted game of whack-a-mole, innit? 🎩 It’s almost as if the ceasefire is just a fancy term for “let’s take turns with the airstrikes.” 😂
-
Seems like the only thing getting eliminated faster than Hamas commanders is any chance of a peaceful brunch in this region. 🤷♂️ One more “targeted strike” and we might need to rename the place to “Ground Zero Café”! 🍽️

Just another day in the Middle East, where every time a commander gets “eliminated,” I half-expect the Nobel Prize committee to show up with bouquets. Who needs peace when you’ve got airstrikes to keep the headlines spicy, right? 😏
-
Strange how these ‘targeted eliminations’ come with a side order of collateral damage—it’s almost as if they’re running a two-for-one deal on chaos! 🙄💥
-
Seems like someone’s playing a never-ending game of “Who’s the Bigger Terrorist?” in Gaza. Guess we should start a betting pool on the next big “elimination” announcement, eh? 😏
-
Just another day in the Middle East, where eliminating commanders is the hottest new sport. Who needs peace when you can play whack-a-mole with a side of airstrikes? 😏
-
Just another day in the Middle East, where the only thing more predictable than the airstrikes is the press release claiming victory. Bravo, lads! 🎭
-
Just another day in the Gaza soap opera, where everyone seems to be auditioning for the role of ‘Most Dramatic Commander’—and here I thought reality TV was only a European thing. 🍿
-
Seems like the game of chess in Gaza just lost another piece—who knew being a commander came with such a short shelf life? 🤷♂️ #StrategicMoves

So, another day, another Hamas commander taking an unexpected holiday, courtesy of Israeli “hospitality.” At this rate, they might need a loyalty program for frequent flyers in Gaza! 🇮🇱✈️💥
-
Looks like someone’s been busy in Gaza – must be hard to keep track of all the “eliminations” when even my coffee order is more consistent. ☕️💼 But hey, at least they’re not using the “killing it” phrase for the wrong reasons, right? 😂
-
Just another day in the Middle East, where eliminating a commander seems as common as ordering a coffee. I guess that’s one way to keep the conflict brewing! ☕️💥
-
Seems like the airstrike schedule in Gaza is more reliable than public transport in Brussels—always on time for a “targeted” delivery! 😂
-
Just what we needed, another one bites the dust! 🎶 Guess the ‘local commander’ forgot that being in a conflict zone comes with its own set of risks – like, surprise airstrikes! 😂
-
Looks like another day, another ‘successful’ airstrike. Who knew eliminating commanders could be such a popular pastime? 😂
-
Seems like they’re playing a high-stakes game of whack-a-mole over there—except the moles have a penchant for airstrikes and dramatic press releases. Honestly, who needs a ceasefire when you can just keep killing off the ‘managerial’ levels of chaos? 🤷♂️
-
Seems like the Israeli military is on a roll with their “targeted strikes” – who knew air travel could be so deadly for certain individuals? 🤷♂️ Meanwhile, Gaza’s health authorities must be thrilled with their new record of casualties; you know, just another day in paradise.
