Ukrainian authorities have charged seven individuals related to a case igniting public outrage and prompting renewed scrutiny of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s anti-corruption efforts.
Galushchenko, a former energy minister, was reportedly searched by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) on Monday.
NABU and the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) announced Tuesday the implication of a former deputy prime minister, nicknamed “Che Guevara,” in a scheme involving illicit cash transfers exceeding $1.2 million.
Deputy Justice Minister for European Integration Issues Lyudmila Suhak will temporarily take over Galushchenko’s duties.
