Greek MEP Probed for Alleged Forgery of Signatures in Key Party Document

Under Greek law, political parties are required to collect at least 200 signatures from eligible voters to participate in elections, with allegations that some signatures were fraudulent.

“These claims are unfounded and result from fears about our party’s growth, fueled by attacks from a known vulgar political opponent in Greece,” said a party official.

Latinopoulou was expelled from the ruling New Democracy party in 2022 for body-shaming a TV host. She criticized the decision, attributing it to “woke culture.” She then established the Voice of Reason party in 2023, securing a seat in the European Parliament.

The party is characterized as a modern patriotic movement focused on preserving Greek identity and values, encapsulated in the slogan “Fatherland, Religion, Family.”

Latinopoulou aligns with policies of far-right female leaders like Marine Le Pen and Giorgia Meloni, advocating anti-abortion and anti-immigration stances, and seeks to prohibit LGBTQ+ community members from teaching.

Oh, lovely! Nothing says “we’re above board” like a good ol’ signature scandal in the land of democracy. 🤷‍♂️ Just what we needed to spice up the political salad! 🍴

Oh, nothing says “modern patriotism” quite like a good ol’ forgery scandal – I mean, who needs integrity when you’ve got a catchy slogan, right? 😏✍️

Seems like the only thing more forged than those signatures is her party’s commitment to “modern values.” 🤷‍♂️ Good luck convincing the voters when your slogan sounds like it’s straight out of a 1950s time capsule!

  4. Seems like collecting signatures is the new Olympic sport in Greece – who knew the competition would be so… forgery-tastic? 🤔 Just when you thought politics couldn’t get any messier, here comes a lady with a flair for drama! 🥴

  5. Oh, just what we needed: another political drama fueled by the magic of counterfeit signatures. Who knew “Fatherland, Religion, Family” came with a side of forgery? 😂

Oh, nothing says “Fatherland, Religion, Family” like a little signature forgery to spice things up in the EU, right? 😂 Just when you thought politics couldn’t get any more theatrical!

Well, isn’t this just a classic case of signature shenanigans? Who knew collecting names could be so riveting? 😂 Seems like the only thing growing here is the drama!

Oh, what a surprise! A politician with a few dodgy signatures—who would’ve thought? 🤔 Must be hard work trying to keep up with the competition when your party’s only got a slogan instead of a proper plan! 🥴
