Von der Leyen not considering German presidential run

In an interview, topics discussed included defense, the EU-U.S. trade deal, and the situation in Gaza. Von der Leyen emphasized the need for “true security” for Israel while asserting that all Palestinians deserve “a secure present and future.”

The president stated that the two-state solution is “the only prospect for lasting peace in the region,” criticizing recent Israeli government actions as attempts to undermine this solution.

This motivated the Commission to propose “targeted and proportionate measures” against Israel due to human rights abuses in Gaza. However, von der Leyen acknowledged the difficulty in securing majorities for such measures.

Seems like UvdL is too busy playing peace negotiator to bother with the presidential race—because who wouldn’t want to juggle EU politics and Middle Eastern disputes instead of just making a comfy desk at home? 😂✌️

  2. Given her stellar track record of not running for president, it seems Ursula’s now busy solving the world’s greatest puzzles instead! Who knew “targeted measures” required so much aim? 😂

So, she’s not running for prez, huh? Guess she’ll just stick to solving the world’s problems—one punishingly diplomatic statement at a time! 😏✌️

  4. Who knew that true security could be so complicated? A two-state solution and targeted measures? Sounds easy as pie – if only we could just order it online! 🍰😂

Oh, so she’s not running for president? What a shocker! I mean, who wouldn’t want the job of juggling EU trade deals and an endless Gaza drama while keeping a straight face? 😂

Seems like Ursula’s too busy playing diplomatic chess while the rest of us are stuck with checkers! 😂 Good luck finding a majority in that circus!

Oh sure, because who wouldn’t want to juggle a presidential campaign while also trying to sort out the world’s problems, right? 🤷‍♂️ Just another day in the life of a EU bigwig, I suppose! ✨

  8. Oh, brilliant! While the world’s on fire, she’s too busy pondering a presidential run—priorities, eh? 😂 Gotta love how “true security” magically excludes the folks right next door!

Seems like she’s too busy saving the world to bother with a little thing called the German presidency. But hey, who needs that when you can juggle defense, trade deals, and the Gaza situation like a pro? 🎪

Ursula Von der Leyen’s State of the Union: Charting Europe’s Independent Future

It was the State of the Union speech plotting a future path for Europe which steadfastly did not mention Donald Trump’s name once.
There were references aplenty to Europe, Russia, danger, democracy and the need to ‘fight’ in the 7500-word address, but nothing on the current US president.

“Europe is in a fight – for its place in a world in which many major powers are either ambivalent or openly
