The air strike hit several regions in Ukraine, including Dnipro, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Kyiv, Odesa, Sumy, and Kharkiv, according to Zelenskyy. Three people were killed and many injured in the attacks, he reported.
“These strikes are not militarily necessary but are a deliberate strategy by Russia to terrorize civilians and destroy infrastructure,” stated the Ukrainian president. “A strong international response is required.”
This attack occurred a day after three Russian fighter jets breached Estonian airspace, a violation condemned by Estonia and EU officials. Moscow denied its jets violated Estonian airspace.
Early Saturday, Poland announced it deployed aircraft in its airspace because of Russian strikes near the Polish border. “The measures aim to ensure safety in border areas near threatened regions,” stated the Polish armed forces. They later confirmed the operation was terminated.
