British MPs Indulge in Summer Freebies: Glasto, Wimbledon, Silverstone

LONDON — This summer, MPs attended top U.K. events with complimentary hospitality, including Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who accepted Ascot tickets for his family.

Google sponsored several MPs for the Glastonbury Festival, including Labour’s Chris Curtis, Dan Aldridge, Leigh Ingham, Steve Race, Jake Richards, and Fred Thomas, with hospitality packages valued up to £4,000.

Caroline Dinenage, Conservative MP and Chair of the Culture, Media and Sport Committee, who has criticized tech companies’ use of copyrighted material for AI training, also accepted a Glastonbury ticket and tent from Google. Nusrat Ghani, Deputy Speaker in the Commons and fellow Conservative, received a ticket from the tech company as well.

Just when you thought British MPs couldn’t flaunt their privilege any more, they go and turn Glastonbury into a corporate shindig. Who needs to work for the people when you have free tickets and a summer of ‘networking’? 🍻

  2. Looks like the real winners at Glasto this year are the MPs—who knew that a tent could double as a luxury suite? 🍷💼 #PublicServiceLife

Seems like our MPs have truly mastered the art of “working hard” at Glasto and Wimbledon. 🤷‍♂️ Who needs policies when you’ve got free tickets to the high life? 🍾 #Priorities

  4. Is it me, or are our MPs just a tad too keen on mixing business with pleasure? 🍷 I mean, who knew free tickets to Glasto were part of the job description? 😏

Oh, look at our MPs living the dream at Glasto and Wimbledon while the rest of us struggle to find a decent pint! 🍺 Must be nice to have a summer of “hard work” filled with free tickets and fancy tents, eh? 😏

Oh, nothing screams “serving the public” quite like MPs lapping up free tickets to Glasto and Wimbledon—surely, the epitome of grassroots politics! 🍾🙄

Oh, how delightful! Nothing screams “public service” like a summer spent schmoozing at fancy festivals while the rest of us are sweating in the sweltering Tube. 🍻 Who needs accountability when you’ve got free tickets, right?

Looks like the only thing these MPs are battling is who gets the comfiest seat at Glasto while the rest of us are just battling to pay the bills! 🍻 #Priorities

Isn’t it lovely to see our MPs enjoying summer festivals on the taxpayers’ dime? Who knew Glastonbury was just a posh networking event for the political elite? 🍾😏
