Ukrainians to Enjoy Free Calls in the EU Starting in 2026

Brussels – Ukraine is set to join the EU’s free mobile roaming initiative starting at the beginning of the new year.

EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated in a press release, “We want Ukrainian citizens to be able to stay connected with their loved ones across the entire EU, as well as in their home country. Therefore, we propose that Ukraine joins our roaming family.”

If ratified by EU member states, Ukrainians will be able to use their mobile phones in the EU at the same rates as in Ukraine starting January 1, 2026. The same regulations will apply to EU citizens traveling to Ukraine.
