Zelenskyy Pursues Trump Meeting at G7 Summit in Canada

In Washington, the Ukrainian delegation engaged in talks about maintaining military aid to Ukraine, as noted by Yermak.

“There is a shared understanding on this issue; we need to keep working,” Yermak stated. “President Zelenskyy clearly outlined our position: Under the signed economic cooperation agreement, we are also ready to purchase some of the equipment, notably missile defense systems,” he emphasized.

The Ukrainian visit coincided with U.S. lawmakers considering extensive sanctions directed at Russia and its main energy buyers. The delegation met with Republican Senator Lindsey Graham and Democrat Senator Richard Blumenthal, who are advocating for a bipartisan Senate bill that would apply significant tariffs on nations purchasing Russian energy.

“We hope this new sanctions package will be adopted,” Yermak remarked. “However, the process expected to start in the Senate next week will be an essential signal — because it is evident what it’s about. It’s primarily about decreasing Russia’s revenue from energy exports, particularly oil,” he added.

Talk about a game of political tag, eh? Zelenskyy at the G7 like a kid trying to join the cool kids’ table—“Please, can I have some military aid and a side of sanctions with that?” 😂

Oh sure, nothing says diplomatic charm like a chat about missile defense systems over a nice cup of Canadian coffee. 🤷‍♂️ Let’s just hope the G7 doesn’t turn into a G20 with all these new sanctions flying around! 💼💥

So, Zelenskyy’s off to Canada, probably hoping to charm the socks off Trump for some extra military goodies. 😏 Because nothing says diplomacy like a G7 summit while your country’s in a pickle!
