Un an après la dissolution : notre Top 11 des montagnes russes émotionnelles

Le 23 juin, Bardella, également président du parti et pressenti pour Matignon, parle dans la presse de son futur gouvernement. Le jour suivant, il expose sa vision de la cohabitation, tandis que sa cheffe le fera deux jours plus tard, après avoir consulté des constitutionnalistes. Les stratèges du parti réfléchissent également à leur approche en cas de majorité relative. Avec 33,14% des voix au premier tour, le mouvement peut espérer sereinement élire plus de 289 députés.

Cependant, le “front républicain” se réactive entre les deux tours, entraînant plus de 200 désistements pour empêcher une victoire du RN. Les controverses entourant certaines “brebis galeuses” du RN, reconnues par leur chef, ainsi que les faiblesses programmatique,s n’améliorent pas la situation: c’est finalement l’union de la gauche qui l’emporte. La déception du 7 juillet est forte pour le RN, même si le nombre de ses députés à l’Assemblée augmente d’un tiers.

Retour à l’isolement, au moins temporairement, tandis que les autres partis se partagent les postes à responsabilités du Palais-Bourbon. Un an plus tard, les dirigeants du RN affirment être prêts à relancer la campagne si nécessaire et avoir tiré les enseignements de leurs erreurs.

Eric Ciotti, alors président des Républicains, avait stupéfait en annonçant un accord avec le RN lors d’un journal télévisé du 11 juin 2024. Misant sur une victoire du parti lepéniste, il se voyait déjà ministre d’un gouvernement Bardella. Cependant, les négociations ayant été secrètes, les députés qu’il espérait emmener avec lui se rebiffent rapidement. Ciotti devra compter sur ses nouveaux alliés pour présenter des candidats dans les 70 circonscriptions cédées par le RN.

L’affaire vire au vaudeville : Annie Genevard, secrétaire générale du parti, convoque une réunion politique pour pousser Ciotti à partir ; le siège des LR est verrouillé sur l’ordre de Ciotti, ensuite rouvert par Genevard ; plusieurs recours sont déposés contre une éviction définitive de Ciotti, sans cesse reportée.
