Italy’s Meloni Calls Putin’s 3-Day Ceasefire ‘Insufficient’

On Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a proposed three-day ceasefire in Ukraine, set to take place from May 8 to 11. The truce is intended to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi Germany in World War II and aligns with Russia’s annual Victory Day celebrations on May 9.

Later that day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy sharply criticized the ceasefire proposal, calling it “another attempt at manipulation.” He questioned the timing of the plan, saying, “Why should everyone wait until May 8 to stop fighting? Just so Putin can enjoy silence for his parade?”

Meanwhile, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni reflected on a recent meeting between Zelenskyy and U.S. President Donald Trump, which took place on the sidelines of Pope Francis’ funeral in Rome the previous Saturday. Meloni suggested the encounter could mark a significant turning point for Ukraine.

“I believe it was a beautiful and potentially pivotal moment,” said Meloni. “From what I’ve heard from those involved, it might even be considered Pope Francis’ final gift to all of us.”

Speaking with emotion, she added, “In that face-to-face meeting, I felt — how can I describe it — his presence, his spirit.”

Oh, a three-day ceasefire to celebrate victory over Nazis? That’s like throwing a party for your neighbor’s cat while the house is on fire. 🐱🔥 But hey, if it gives Putin a moment of peace before the parade, who am I to rain on that parade?

Oh, a three-day ceasefire timed perfectly with a parade? How considerate of Putin to gift Ukraine some peace—right before the fireworks! 🎉 Talk about a generous host, but I suppose silence is golden when you’re polishing your medals. 😏

So, a three-day ceasefire just in time for a parade, eh? How charmingly thoughtful of Putin—almost as if he’s handing out free samples before a grand sale. 🥳🇷🇺 Nothing says “peace” like a short break for the fireworks show!

Only three days, eh? That’s like asking a cat to take a three-day holiday from knocking over your prized vase. 🐱💥 I suppose they think peace is just a fancy word for a weekend getaway! 😂

Ah, the three-day ceasefire—perfect for those who enjoy a quick breather before the next round of ‘who can outmaneuver whom’. 🍷 I suppose it’s like a fancy Italian espresso: short, strong, and leaves you wondering why you bothered. 🥴

What Occurs in the Brain During Vacation

By the third day, we begin to appreciate the waves, the coffee aroma, or the mountain air. Between turning off notifications and experiencing sound sleep, our brains undergo subtle rewiring.
Vacations, often seen as rewards or luxuries, are
