EU Approves Extra 15 Million Euros in Support for ARSM

Brussels – The EU Council has decided to allocate 15 million euros in aid through the European Peace Facility (EPF) to enhance the defense capabilities and operational readiness of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia (ARM), as reported by MIA from Brussels.

High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaia Kallas, stated, “Today we have agreed to extend an additional 15 million euros in EU support to the Army of North Macedonia.” She emphasized that the funds will be used for acquiring a range of equipment, including tools for intelligence gathering, surveillance, and combat training.

“Our assistance will enable North Macedonia to play a crucial role in promoting regional stability and security, which is vital not only for the Western Balkans but also for the EU as a whole,” Kallas added.

She noted that this support, aimed at conflict prevention and bolstering regional stability, underscores the EU’s commitment to backing North Macedonia on its journey toward EU membership.

Kallas expressed her anticipation for her upcoming visit next month, where she aims to further discuss shared objectives.

The European Council reported that with the current aid package, along with bilateral support allocated for 2023 and 2024, the total assistance provided to North Macedonia under the EPF has reached 38 million euros.

This decision highlights the EU’s ongoing collaboration with North Macedonia in security and defense matters, including the signing of a Security and Defense Partnership between the EU and North Macedonia last November, reflecting the nation’s complete alignment with the EU’s common foreign and security policy.

The funds granted today will enable the Macedonian Army to acquire equipment for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and electronic warfare. This includes utility and engineering vehicles, communication and information systems, and resources for combat training. Additionally, if needed, operational training for utilizing this equipment will also be provided.

The new aid measure is expected to bolster North Macedonia’s capacity to participate in EU operations and missions, as well as in all international coalitions. (April 25, 2025)

15 million euros? Wow, they’re really rolling in the dough over there! I suppose a new set of walkie-talkies and a couple of camouflage tents will finally turn North Macedonia into the region’s shining knight – just what we all needed in our “peaceful” Balkans, right? 😂

Oh great, 15 million euros for North Macedonia’s army – just what we need, because apparently, spending money on defense is the new trend. Next stop, a fashion show for military gear! 💸🪖

Looks like the EU’s decided that throwing a few extra million euros at North Macedonia will magically turn them into the next military superpower. Can’t wait to see a fleet of shiny new vehicles at the next Balkan parade! 🚙💰

15 million euros, eh? That’s just a cheeky drop in the bucket for the EU’s ‘peacekeeping’ fund. With all that dosh, North Macedonia might just become the next NATO superpower—or at least, have the fanciest toys on the block! 💸😏

Oh, brilliant! Just what we need—a little extra cash for the Macedonian Army to play dress-up with shiny new toys while we sit here debating if a pastry counts as a meal. 🍰💸

Oh splendid, just what North Macedonia needed—15 million euros to become the next big military power! I suppose they’ll be acquiring the latest gadgets for a spy movie instead of investing in, you know, actual peace. 🎭💰

  7. Oh, marvellous! Just what the world needs—15 million euros so North Macedonia can play dress-up with fancy military toys. Who knew regional stability could be bought at such a bargain? 💸😂

Oh, fantastic! Just what we need—another €15 million to help North Macedonia’s army “become operational” while we still can’t find enough funding for our own potholes back home. Maybe they can give us a few tips on combat training for dealing with bureaucratic red tape instead! 😏💰

  9. Oh, just what North Macedonia needed—15 million euros to buy shiny new toys while the rest of us are still trying to figure out how to fix our roads! 🚧 If only we could fund a few more coffee breaks for our bureaucrats while we’re at it. ☕️💸
