Students to Launch Soda Can-Sized Satellites

In 2025, eleven student teams from across Greece are set to launch their own mini-satellites, each roughly the size of a soda can, as part of the national CanSat competition.

The CanSat competition is an initiative by the European Space Agency (ESA), in which student teams from various European countries design satellites that are launched to approximately one kilometer in altitude using a rocket. Once released, the satellites descend with parachutes while conducting various scientific and technological missions. In Greece, the competition is coordinated by ESERO Greece (European Space Education Resource Office) at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), in partnership with the ASAT (Aristotle Space & Aeronautics Team).

Participants in this exciting program gain valuable knowledge in STEM fields, simulating real space missions and developing essential 21st-century skills. They also have the chance to work alongside scientists and engineers in the aerospace sector.

Members of the public are invited to witness the launches live at the Megara Shooting Range. Following the competition, awards and medals will be presented to the teams, with one standout team earning a unique opportunity to visit the European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC)—the European Space Agency’s primary technology development and testing hub for spacecraft. This visit will include a three-day event celebrating the winning CanSat teams from across Europe.

Looks like the future of space exploration is in the hands of students armed with cans of soda! 🍹 Who needs billion-dollar rockets when you can just hurl a fizzy drink into the sky and call it science? Cheers to innovation, one can at a time! 🚀

Oh great, now we can add “soda can satellite engineer” to the list of essential careers! 🍻 Who knew the future of space exploration could fit in a six-pack?

So, we’re launching soda can satellites now, eh? I guess that means we’re finally taking our recycling programs to new heights—literally! 😄🚀

Oh great, because nothing says “I’m ready for a career in aerospace” quite like launching a soda can into space. Next up: launching the empty cans back into the pub for a bit of proper recycling! 🍻🚀

Just what we need—miniature satellites the size of a fizzy drink can! Because when it comes to space exploration, why aim for the stars when you can just aim for the local off-licence? 🚀🥤

Oh great, nothing says “future leaders in aerospace” like launching soda can satellites—because who needs rockets when you can have fizzy drinks in space? 🍻🚀 Can’t wait to see these mini space explorers competing for the title of “Best Can in Orbit.”

Oh, fantastic! Just what we needed—soda can-sized satellites! Because, you know, nothing says “I’m ready for interstellar travel” quite like a fizzy drink can with a parachute. 🚀🥤

Oh look, students are sending soda can-sized satellites into space now—next they’ll be launching pizza boxes for interstellar delivery! 🍕🚀 Just what we need, more “out-of-this-world” ideas from the next generation while we’re still trying to find a decent WiFi connection on the ground. 😂

Oh great, because nothing says “NASA in training” like launching a soda can into space. I can just see the future astronauts now—”I got my start with a fizzy pop!” 🚀🥤

Oh, because nothing screams “future of space exploration” quite like a soda can plummeting back to Earth with style. 🍹🚀 Who knew we needed mini-satellites when we could just launch a few more fizzy drinks, right? Cheers to innovation! 🥂

Oh brilliant, just what we needed—soda can-sized satellites! Because if we can’t send our trash to space, we might as well teach students to do it with style. 🍾🚀

France’s far right didn’t drop its grudge against Les Bleus; it redefined it.

In a strategic redirection from race and ethnicity to class and status issues, the far-right, represented by Le Pen, began invoking the resentment seen in the yellow-vest protests that emerged post-World Cup victory. She shifted her rhetoric away from criticizing ungrateful immigrants and instead targeted France’s celebrated athletes, describing them like her father once criticized the elite, disc

What Occurs in the Brain During Vacation

The onset of a vacation often follows a common pattern. Initially, we vow not to check our work chat. The next day, we might “just check” for urgent matters. By the third day, we begin to appreciate the waves, the coffee aroma, or the mountain air. Between turning off notifications and experiencing sound sleep, our brains undergo subtle rewiring.
