Rokas: Strengthened Cooperation Between North Macedonia and Bulgaria is Crucial Now More Than Ever

Skopje – The collaboration between North Macedonia and Bulgaria has never been more crucial, emphasized EU ambassador Mihalis Rokas during a conference at the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency’s (BTA) press center in Skopje. The event focused on the project “Europe in the Balkans: Together through knowledge,” which is supported by the European Commission.

In his speech, Rokas highlighted that this gathering reflects both countries’ dedication to enhancing bilateral relations and fostering regional development, economic progress, and cultural exchanges.

According to Rokas, this collaboration exemplifies the lasting partnership between the two nations and their mutual vision for a stable, prosperous, and European future.

Rokas also pointed out that the integration process extends beyond merely obtaining European Union membership; it is also about securing stability, peace, and shared prosperity for everyone involved.

He stated, “The European Union has created a structure for bilateral cooperation with North Macedonia’s five neighbors: Albania, Kosovo, Greece, Bulgaria, and Serbia. These partnerships rely on mutual respect, shared objectives, and a joint commitment to overcoming challenges. The cooperation between Bulgaria and North Macedonia has deep historical roots, having begun even before its official establishment through EU-funded cross-border programs,” said Rokas.

The conference also featured remarks from MIA and BTA general directors Dragan Antonovski and Kiril Valchev, as well as the Bulgarian ambassador in Skopje, Zhelyazko Radukov. (February 13)

Oh, splendid! Just what we need—another conference to remind us that cooperation is crucial. I suppose next they’ll be telling us that water is wet and the sky is blue! 🙄

Isn’t it just delightful when two neighbors finally decide to play nice after centuries of bickering? 🤷‍♂️ I mean, who knew cooperation could be so… revolutionary? 🌍💼

Isn’t it adorable how they think a little chat at a press conference will solve centuries of rivalry? 🤷‍♂️ I mean, who knew that “strong cooperation” could be achieved with just a sprinkle of EU-funded goodwill and a PowerPoint presentation! 🍷💁‍♂️

Oh joy, another conference on “strengthened cooperation”—because nothing says stability like a couple of countries holding hands and singing Kumbaya while the rest of Europe rolls its eyes. 🤦‍♂️ But hey, at least they’re not arguing over who gets the last slice of banitsa, right? 🥳

Isn’t it charming how the EU thinks a few nice words and a conference can magically solve decades of Balkan drama? 🤷‍♂️ Maybe next they’ll host a bake sale for world peace! 🍰

Isn’t it just delightful that North Macedonia and Bulgaria are finally getting around to playing nice? I suppose better late than never—who knew they had so much in common besides a penchant for complicated names? 🤷‍♂️😄
