Sarajevo (Fena) – Bosnia and Herzegovina, having navigated the trials of war and undergone a post-war recovery, is prepared to share its insights with Ukraine, stated Predrag Kožul, a representative in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH. His remarks came during the meeting of the Committee for Economic Affairs of the Parliamentary Dimension of the Central European Initiative (PD CEI) held in Matera, Italy.
The gathering focused on the CEI’s role in supporting Ukraine, with Kožul underscoring that Bosnia and Herzegovina possesses a unique understanding of the challenges Ukraine will encounter in its post-war recovery. He noted that the stability achieved in BiH was largely due to international collaboration and emphasized the critical importance of ongoing stability and reconstruction efforts.
“While Bosnia and Herzegovina may not be able to offer substantial material aid, we can certainly share our experiences in crucial areas such as demining, facilitating the return of displaced persons, and rebuilding infrastructure,” Kožul remarked.
He also pointed out the significance of Matera as the meeting’s location, highlighting its designation as the European Capital of Culture in 2019, which serves as a testament to successful recovery and development.
The event was attended by senior officials from both chambers of the Italian parliament as well as representatives from Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada. (7.2.)
