
Waremme (Eurotoday) – On January 17, 2025, a teenage student at the Royal Athenaeum of Borgworm (Liège) outlet assaulted a 13-year-old classmate and stabbed her. The attack was made by the accused person, who is a second-year secondary school student; he used a kitchen knife, which he hid in his shoe and stabbed the victim in the back.
Fortunately, the girl was not seriously injured, and she was treated on the scene prior to being airlifted to the nearest hospital in a stretcher carried by an ambulance. As of now, the representative of Liège public prosecutor’s office has said that they are conducting the case legal proceedings following the mentioned incident.
One second-year student was arrested for stabbing a 13-year-old girl during a class in Royal Athenaeum in Borgworm. She was not badly injured and was admitted to a nearby hospital. It has also caused lots of concerns among students and staff at school. In response, a psychological unit was provided for students and teachers who were victims of this shocker. The minor that planned and executed this attack is from Walloon Brabant, and therefore, the public prosecutor of that province will continue with the investigation. Law enforcement agencies do not rest and are trying as much as possible to find out the circumstances of such a dangerous event, as well as ensuring safety at learning institutions.
What led to this disturbing incident?
Although the identity of the man who stabbed the teenager is unknown, the specific reason has not yet been determined either, which only contributes to the increasing concern about security issues all over the schools in Belgium.
