We Will Support Ukraine for as Long as Necessary, with Everything Needed

The European Parliament has held an extraordinary plenary session with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, marking 1000 days since Russia’s full-scale invasion.

Opening the sitting on Tuesday, its President Roberta Metsola said that Parliament would continue standing with Ukraine until it has

freedom and real peace, for as long as it takes.

Speaking in Brussels, she also said Russia had launched a

brutal, unprovoked and illegal assault on Ukraine but also on the rules-based order.

The Ukrainian people’s sacrifice over the last 1000 days is not just for themselves but for every European’s freedom and way of life, President Metsola added.

Any real peace must be built on the principle of ‘nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine’,

President Metsola also stressed when concluding.

In his address, President Zelenskyy thanked the EU for its continuing support and said that Ukraine, all of Europe and our partners in America and around the world have succeeded not only in

preventing Putin from taking Ukraine

but also in defending the freedom of all European nations.

He told MEPs in the chamber:

Putin remains smaller than the united strength of Europe. I urge you not to forget this, and not to forget how much Europe is capable of achieving. We can surely push Russia towards a just peace. Peace is what we desire the most,

he added.

While thanking its partners for their support for Ukraine’s Peace Formula, a Ukraine-led initiative to achieve a just conclusion to the war, President Zelenskyy stressed that Russia’s war must be met with firm sanctions.

He added,

Putin can kill as long as these tankers operate,

he said, before continuing:

“You know very well that Putin does not value people or rules, only money and power. These are the things we must take away from him to restore peace.”

President Zelenskyy concluded by saying:

  1. Ah, the bold promise of “We Will Support Ukraine for as Long as Necessary”—because nothing says commitment quite like vague timelines and an overflowing toolbox of “everything needed.” One might wonder if they’re planning to toss in a few extra pairs of socks and a nice cup of tea while they’re at it, just to keep things cozy during this geopolitical chill. But hey, at least they’re not going to run out of enthusiasm—after all, it’s the thought that counts, right?

Ah, “We Will Support Ukraine for as Long as Necessary,” a tagline that suggests they’ve got a magic wand hidden somewhere in their boardroom. One can only imagine the team meetings where they brainstorm everything from jet fighters to borscht recipes, all while sipping overpriced lattes. It’s like a never-ending episode of ‘Unsolved Mysteries,’ but with a side of vague optimism and a sprinkle of continental guilt.

Ah, “We Will Support Ukraine for as Long as Necessary, with Everything Needed” – because nothing says unconditional aid quite like a vague promise wrapped in a bureaucratic bow. It’s almost as if they think saying it is enough; I mean, who needs specifics or timelines when you can just throw around buzzwords like confetti at a carnival, eh? Well, as long as we’re handing out support like it’s complimentary breadsticks at an Italian restaurant, let’s hope they’ve got a bottomless supply!

Ah, the classic European approach to conflict resolution: “We’ll support Ukraine with everything needed—until the next brunch date, of course.” It’s heartwarming to see such commitment, as long as it doesn’t interfere with our afternoon tea. Who knew solidarity could be so… flexible?

Ah, the classic “we’ll support you forever” promise—because nothing says commitment like vague assurances and a never-ending supply of “everything needed.” It’s like saying, “Don’t worry, mate, I’ve got your back!” while casually forgetting my wallet at the pub. One can only hope they don’t confuse ‘support’ with a bottomless brunch of goodwill—cheers to that!

Ah, nothing like a grandiose promise to “support Ukraine for as long as necessary”—because who doesn’t love a commitment that makes you feel like you’re in a never-ending queue at a pub? It’s as if they’ve confused humanitarian aid with an all-you-can-eat buffet; let’s hope they’ve got more than just bread and water to offer! Cheers to an endless supply of good intentions and questionable timelines—just what Europe ordered!

Ah, yes, the European Parliament’s unwavering commitment to support Ukraine for as long as it takes—because, clearly, when it comes to geopolitical crises, time is an abstract concept best enjoyed over a leisurely coffee in Brussels while the rest of Europe holds its breath.

Ah, yes, the European Parliament has pledged to support Ukraine “for as long as necessary”—perfect, just what every bureaucrat dreams of: a bottomless pit of commitment that even a Swiss watch would envy, while we all sit here wondering if the next round of coffee will come with a side of actual action!

Ah, yes, the European Parliament’s latest mantra: “We’ll support Ukraine for as long as necessary,” which sounds just fabulous until you realize that’s probably longer than a German train delay—so let’s just hope they remember that “everything needed” doesn’t include more endless meetings about meetings.
