Hoeleden (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – Around 40 homes in Hoeleden have been without water since Thursday, Oct 24, 2025. De Watergroep’s Brigitte Van Damme said crews are repairing 2 leaks and expect to fix them by 2 p.m.
As VRT News reported, around 40 homes on Lindestraat in Hoeleden, near Kortenaken, in the province of Flemish Brabant, Belgium, have been without running water since Thursday, Oct 24, 2025, 4 p.m.
The disruption has caused difficulties for residents, who are using temporary solutions provided by the municipality. A resident said they can still get water from a public tap on Driesstraat. People in the affected area can also take showers at the De Vruen sports hall.
What caused the water outage affecting 40 homes in Hoeleden?
Residents of Lindestraat in Hoeleden are struggling with the ongoing water outage.
“We can’t flush the toilet, we can’t wash dishes, and we can’t use the washing machine,”
one resident said.
“We just have to manage and hope it ends soon.”
The water company De Watergroep confirmed that repair crews are still on site.
“Two leaks were discovered yesterday,”
said spokesperson Brigitte Van Damme.
“One has already been repaired, and we are working hard on the second. We expect to have the issue resolved by 2 p.m. this afternoon.”
A similar water outage occurred earlier this month in Kortenaken. On October 13, 2025, a burst water pipe in Krawatenstraat left several households without running water for hours. The leak disrupted daily routines. Crews from De Watergroep repaired the damage later that day, and water service was restored by evening.
