Amid a recent wave of drone attacks, Russian government spokesperson Dmitry Peskov accused the Ukrainian government of engaging in what he called “terrorist acts,” referring to it as “the Kyiv regime.”
Ukrainian authorities confirmed targeting two military-industrial facilities within Russia. A representative of Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) told POLITICO that these strikes were in response to Russian bombardments of civilian infrastructure.
“While the Russians continue to strike residential high-rises in peaceful cities, the SBU is conducting precise operations against military installations aiding aggression against Ukraine,” the official stated. “Efforts to undermine Russia’s military capacity will persist.”
In the wake of the attacks, disruptions have affected air travel in and around Moscow. Russian national airline Aeroflot notified passengers of “temporary restrictions” imposed Tuesday night at Sheremetyevo Airport, the busiest airport in the country.
Independent media outlet Meduza reported widespread delays and cancellations across multiple Moscow airports, noting flight diversions following concerns over ongoing Ukrainian drone activity.
