Ukraine won’t accept negotiations without its involvement, says Zelenskyy

Kyiv (Eurotoday) – President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that Ukraine will not accept the outcome of US-Russia discussions if it is not involved in the process.

What is Ukraine’s stance on negotiations without its presence? How did Zelenskyy react to Trump’s call with Putin?

In remarks reported by the Associated Press and Reuters, he emphasized that Kyiv would not participate in US-Russia discussions on ending the war and would not recognize the outcome of any talks that exclude Ukraine.

Speaking to journalists during a call from the United Arab Emirates, Zelenskyy noted that his administration had not been invited to the planned discussions in Saudi Arabia.

What is Ukraine’s stance on negotiations without its presence?

He asserted that such discussions would “yield no results” due to the absence of Ukrainian officials.

“Ukraine regards any negotiations on Ukraine without Ukraine as ones that have no result, and we cannot recognise … any agreements about us without us,”

he stated.

The Ukrainian president also mentioned that, for the first time, he had observed some interest from China regarding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Zelenskyy also dismissed the idea of a minerals deal with the US, insisting that Ukraine should not merely be seen as a “simple supplier of raw materials” and that any agreement must include “at least somehow” additional security guarantees.

Furthermore, Zelenskyy said he anticipated gaining more clarity on any potential engagement with Trump only after US representative Keith Kellogg visited Ukraine.

How did Zelenskyy react to Trump’s call with Putin?

Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently told Donald Trump that he does not believe Vladimir Putin is ready for peace talks.

The U.S. president’s unexpected phone call to Russia sent shockwaves through Kyiv and across Europe, as concerns grew that Washington and Moscow might attempt to decide Ukraine’s fate without its involvement.

“Trump said to me that Putin wants to stop the war. I said to him, ‘Putin is a liar. I hope that you will pressure him because I don’t trust him.’ We had a direct conversation with Putin about a cease-fire in 2019,”

Zelenskyy stated while speaking on a security cooperation panel at the Munich Security Conference.

Oh, marvelous! Who would have thought that discussing the future of a nation without inviting its leaders would yield no results? Sounds like a classic case of “let’s play Monopoly without the board.” 😂

Negotiating without Ukraine is like ordering a pizza without cheese – you’re left with a crust and a whole lot of disappointment. 🍕 Seriously, who thought that would fly?

Looks like Zelenskyy is channeling his inner diva—no Ukraine, no talk, darling! 🥂 It’s almost like insisting on being the star of the show while others attempt to rewrite the script without you. Classic! 😏
