Ukraine targets St. Petersburg again as Putin’s forum concludes

“It is time to end this war. But Russia’s ruler wants to keep fighting,” Zelenskyy stated in his post on X.

Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that its air defenses shot down 376 Ukrainian drones, as per the Associated Press on Saturday.

The drone strikes occurred just before the conclusion of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, an event the Kremlin uses to highlight Russia’s economy and attract foreign investment, often referred to as Putin’s Davos.

Earlier in the week, Ukrainian drones targeted the outskirts of St. Petersburg as the forum commenced.

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated on Saturday that “things will only get worse for Russia” as Ukraine shows its capability to strike deep into Russian territory.

“By refusing President Zelenskyy’s offer for direct peace talks, Putin lost his chance to get out of his failed war,” Sybiha wrote on X.

On Sunday, Zelenskyy is expected to meet France, Germany, and U.K. leaders in London to discuss support for Ukraine and a path forward for peace talks.

When discussing the authority left by the Lord to the Church, we must dismiss any notion of it resembling earthly authority. Forget that church authorities in the Middle Ages and other times sometimes resembled state power. This authority is fundamentally different and cannot be compared.
