Trump stated that although a date for the meeting has not yet been set, it will take place in the “not too distant future.” He also hinted that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman might be involved, saying, “We know the crown prince, and I think it’d be a very good place to meet.”
Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed on Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin had invited Trump and members of his administration to Moscow for discussions on Ukraine.
“The Russian president invited the U.S. president to visit Moscow and expressed his readiness to host American officials in Russia in areas of mutual interest, including, of course, the issue of resolving the Ukraine conflict,” Peskov stated.
This invitation came after Trump’s recent announcement that peace talks would begin “immediately” and that Ukraine was unlikely to regain its lost territory. His remarks have sparked controversy on both sides of the Atlantic.
