Paris – On Wednesday, Marc Ferracci, France’s Minister of Industry and Energy, cautioned about the ongoing risk posed by Donald Trump’s strategy to create divisions among European nations. This remark came in response to a question regarding Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s plans for a bilateral negotiation with Washington.
Prime Minister Meloni announced her upcoming visit to Washington on April 17 to engage in discussions with the American president.
“We must stand united because Europe’s strength lies in its unity,” Ferracci emphasized.
He added, “If we begin to pursue bilateral talks, it will undoubtedly disrupt the current collaborative dynamic.”
Benjamin Haddad, France’s Minister Delegate for Europe, echoed this sentiment during an appearance on France 2 television, stating, “Italy, France, Germany, and others all share a common interest in presenting a united and firm response rather than risking division and fragmentation.” (April 9, 2025)
