The EU Expresses Concern Over Rising US Tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China

Today, the European Union voiced its “regret” regarding the United States’ decision to raise customs duties on products from Canada, Mexico, and China. This announcement comes just a day after Donald Trump signed the relevant orders, with the EU labeling this action as “harmful to all parties involved.”

The European Commission stated, “The EU firmly believes that low tariffs foster growth and economic stability,” but also cautioned that it would “respond vigorously” if subjected to “unfair” tariffs. (02/02/2025)
