Last year, during the presidential campaign, Trump commented that Swift might “probably pay a price” for endorsing Kamala Harris, his opponent.
These remarks came following the pop star’s endorsement of Harris, the Democratic candidate.
“I’m voting for Kamala Harris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” Swift expressed.
Swift has shown support for Democratic candidates in U.S. elections since becoming more politically vocal after years of maintaining ambiguity earlier in her career. Her 2020 Instagram post urging fans to register to vote on Vote.org led to increased activity on the platform, according to its CEO.
This month, Trump involved Swift in the controversy surrounding Sydney Sweeney’s contentious American Eagle jeans advertisement. The campaign features Sweeney in jeans, promoting the notion that genes or jeans “are passed down from parents to offspring.” Critics argue the ad endorses eugenics, a belief in favoring certain traits and selective reproduction.

“Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the ‘HOTTEST’ ad out there,” Trump wrote on August 4. “It’s for American Eagle, and the jeans are ‘flying off the shelves.’”
“Or just look at Woke singer Taylor Swift. Ever since I alerted the world as to what she was by saying on TRUTH that I can’t stand her (HATE!),” Trump continued. “She was booed out of the Super Bowl and became NO LONGER HOT.”
It remains uncertain whether Trump will be invited to the upcoming wedding, though it seems highly unlikely.
