Steven Seagal has sold his mansion for seven times its purchase price.

Steven Seagal, a recognizable actor from the action hero generation, has been residing in the luxurious Rublyovka district of Moscow, Russia, since 2019. He bought a two-story house with a spacious yard and guest house for 100 million rubles (approximately 1 million euros) in 2018.

The 1.93 m tall actor now plans to sell the property for 700 million rubles (over 7.6 million euros) stating “the time has simply come,” but maintains he will not leave Russia. He owns various other properties across Russia, ensuring he has a home.

The house doesn’t boast any special architecture but offers moderate American luxury with 500 sq. m. featuring 4 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, a cinema, a winery, and a luggage room, necessary for his global travels. The remaining 1500 sq. m. includes a guest house with a Russian bathhouse and sauna, a barbecue area, a two-car garage, and a yard designed by a landscape specialist, all under 24-hour security.

When the house was listed for sale in January, speculation about the 73-year-old star’s financial situation arose. No longer active in film, Seagal’s acting career ended, particularly after a 2018 sexual harassment accusation in the USA, though no investigation occurred due to statute limitations. This controversy may have influenced his decision to move to Russia. Seagal obtained Serbian citizenship in 2016, then Russian citizenship from Vladimir Putin, and joined the parliamentary party “A Just Russia” supporting the president.

Hollywood is now closed to Seagal, but he shows business acumen, engaging in projects and holding shares in various companies, indicating the property sale is a strategic asset redistribution.

Seagal has expressed satisfaction with life in Russia, partly due to his origins; his grandparents were Russian Jews who emigrated. Seagal has seven children from multiple marriages and a relationship with a nanny. His first wife was Japanese, and his current wife is Mongolian.

Selling a mansion for seven times the price? If only my tax returns could pull off such stunts! 🤑 Must be nice to have a “justifiable” reason to move the cash around like it’s a game of chess.

Selling a mansion for seven times what you paid? Must be nice to have a “little” side hustle in a country where your past might not follow you quite as closely! 😏🏰
