“Special Tribunal on Ukraine Anticipated to Receive Approval on Friday (Kallas)”

Warsaw – A political consensus to establish a special tribunal aimed at holding Russia accountable for its invasion of Ukraine will be revealed on Friday in Lviv, located in western Ukraine. This announcement coincides with Russia’s commemoration of its victory over Nazi Germany in 1945.

Following an informal meeting of European foreign ministers in Warsaw, Kaja Kallas reassured the media, stating, “There will be no impunity.”

This new tribunal, focused on crimes of aggression, will operate alongside the International Criminal Court (ICC), which has issued international arrest warrants for several Russian officials, including Vladimir Putin. However, the ICC lacks the jurisdiction to prosecute Russia for crimes of aggression, which is why the establishment of this special tribunal was proposed soon after the invasion.

Additionally, Ms. Kallas announced the allocation of one billion euros to bolster the Ukrainian defense industry, funding that will be generated from the interest on Russian assets currently frozen in Europe. (May 8, 2025)

Looks like they’ve finally found a way to hold a special tribunal – just in time for Russia’s victory parade! 🥳 Because nothing screams justice like a courtroom full of busy lawyers while the actual invaders pop the champagne. 🍾

Looks like we’re finally getting around to holding Russia accountable – just in time for their victory parade, eh? 🥳 One billion euros to bolster Ukraine’s defense? I suppose they thought a little cash could make up for all that ‘impunity’ business. Cheers! 🍻

Oh, a special tribunal just in time for the weekend—how charming! 🤷‍♂️ I suppose it’s easier to hold a courtroom than to hold a proper conversation with our Russian mates, innit?

So, we’re finally setting up a tribunal, huh? Just what we need—more paperwork and a nice long wait while Russia “celebrates” its own version of history. 🥴💼 At this rate, we’ll have a court before we have peace!

Oh great, another tribunal! Just what Europe needs to settle its brunch debate over who gets to be the judge. 🍽️ Let’s hope the Russians are as eager to show up as they were for that last Eurovision contest! 🎤

Oh, brilliant timing—nothing says “let’s bring peace” like a fancy new tribunal while Russia throws a party for its past glories. Just what we need, another layer of bureaucracy to remind us that justice is a dish best served cold… and possibly under a mountain of paperwork. 🍽️😏

Oh, brilliant! Just what we need—a shiny new tribunal to do what exactly? Maybe they’ll send a strongly-worded letter to Putin while they’re at it. 🙄💼

Oh, look, a shiny new tribunal to hold Russia accountable—because we all know how effective those have been in the past! 🤦‍♂️ Let’s just hope it comes with a side of accountability and not just another political photo op, eh? 🥳
