Slovak Republic’s Ministry of Labor to Initiate Employment Support Project Funded by the EU

Prešov – The Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic is set to introduce a new employment support initiative called “Right to First Employment 2.” Under this program, employers will receive reimbursement of 80% of their total labor costs, with a cap of 1010 euros. This announcement was made by Minister Erik Tomáš during a briefing for the Hlas-SD party in Prešov, as reported by TASR.

Minister Tomáš noted that this initiative builds on the success of the previous pilot project, Right to First Employment, which launched last year and created 1,830 jobs primarily for young individuals.

“Unlike the earlier project, which was funded by state resources, this program will be financed through EU funds, allowing for no restrictions on the budget or the number of jobs,” Tomáš commented. The eligibility criteria will still require individuals to be registered as unemployed for at least one month, or three months for university graduates. Additionally, to qualify, applicants must not have been continuously employed in Slovakia for more than six months. The program will also provide reimbursement for a mentor for three months, who will support the new employee in their role.

The initiative will also include targeted assistance for job seekers under 30. For this group, the program will again reimburse 80% of total labor costs for the first six months, with a four-month sustainability requirement. Mentor support will be available for two months for these young workers, as stated by the minister.

Branislav Ondruš, a Member of the European Parliament from Hlas-SD, expressed support for the European Trade Union Confederation’s (ETUC) call to uphold the European directive on minimum wages. The directive’s future is expected to be determined soon by the Court of Justice of the European Union, following challenges from Sweden and Denmark.

Oh great, another EU-funded initiative to “support” employment—because nothing says job creation like handing out cash with one hand while tying the other behind employers’ backs. 🇸🇰💸 Just what we needed, more paperwork and a mentor to “guide” our youths into the glorious world of job-hunting! 😂

Oh, brilliant! Nothing says job creation like an 80% reimbursement on labor costs—what a revolutionary concept! 🤦‍♂️ Maybe next time they’ll throw in free coffee for all the mentors too, eh? ☕💼

Oh joy, another EU-funded scheme to throw money at employers while we wait for the coffee to brew! Let’s just hope ‘Right to First Employment 2’ doesn’t turn out to be as effective as a chocolate teapot. 🇸🇰💸

Oh, fantastic! Just what we needed—yet another EU-funded program to sprinkle a bit of fairy dust on job creation while turning our unemployed youth into lab rats for ‘mentorship’ experiments! 🎉 Because who doesn’t love being reimbursed for hiring folks who are *just* starting to figure out adulthood, eh? 😂

Sure, because nothing screams “job creation” like the EU footing the bill for a glorified internship program – I can already see the young ones lining up for their 1010 euros! 🇸🇰💸 #WhatCouldPossiblyGoWrong

Oh, fantastic! Just what we needed—another scheme to throw EU money at the problem. Why work hard when you can just wait for the “Right to First Employment 2” to magically solve everything? 😂💸

Isn’t it just adorable how the EU’s cash flow magically transforms into job creation? 🎩💸 I suppose that makes up for the fact that my last holiday in Prešov didn’t come with 80% off my hotel bill! 😂

Oh, brilliant! Who needs a thriving economy when you can just throw EU money at job creation like confetti at a wedding? 🎉 Just hope the mentors don’t spend more time mentoring themselves instead! 😂
