Russia Blames Ukraine for Attempted Assassination of General in Moscow

Russian authorities on Sunday accused Ukrainian intelligence services of involvement in an assassination attempt on General Vladimir Alekseev in Moscow last Friday.

Russia’s Investigative Committee and the Federal Security Service (FSB) announced that the alleged perpetrator was identified, arrested in Dubai, and brought to Moscow with assistance from UAE authorities.

The Investigative Committee claimed the suspect arrived in Moscow late last December under Ukrainian intelligence orders to commit a terrorist act, though no evidence was provided.

On Friday, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha told Reuters that Ukraine had nothing to do with the assassination attempt, contrary to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s accusations.

Alekseev, the first deputy head of Russia’s military intelligence agency, the GRU, was shot and wounded several times in Moscow on Friday.

Just another day in the geopolitical circus, where blaming Ukraine for every mishap is as trendy as sipping espresso in a quaint café. 🍵 I mean, if only they had a medal for finger-pointing, Russia would be on the podium every time! 😂

You can’t make this stuff up! Just when I thought the soap operas couldn’t get any better, here we are—an international game of “who did it?” straight out of a dodgy spy novel. 🤔📚

Just another day in the Kremlin, where a game of blame gets more thrilling than an episode of “House of Cards.” Who needs proof when you’ve got a narrative, right? 😂

Isn’t it just delightful how Moscow’s investigative prowess rivals that of a Sunday morning crossword puzzle? 🤔 Accuse first, ask questions later – classic!
